"Farmer" John's 14 Acre Slice Of Heaven
There is something remarkably calming about the drive on Vermont Rte. 30 North. You are struck by the idea that
somehow the road, the houses, the towns were all designed by a master plan so that when you drove to John Evan's house
you were actually on a movie set and you would keep saying "Wow, Isn't that quaint?"
Upon your arrival
you are met with a sign that says "Free Parking for All. $5.00 for Barclay". Barclay is actually Don
Barclay. In high school we called him "Frog". I haven't a clue why. We just did.
John met us with a smile and "We're glad you're here!" Behind him was a number of green and white
tents that would shelter us. The weather was incredibly nice however, so the shelter was superfluous for our first night.
